Mobile homes continue to represent a relatively large proportion of the housing supply in San Juan County, at one third (33%) of the housing units. For comparison, across the U.S., mobile homes or manufactured housing comprises 3% of the housing in urban areas, and 15% in rural areas.

Of those homeowners with a mortgage, median estimated monthly owner costs were $1284 in 2019, with 35% of homeowners being housing cost burdened, that is paying more than 30% of their income toward housing costs.
The homeowner vacancy rate across the county was estimated to be 5.1% in 2019, compared to 1.4% across the U.S.
