About

Welcome

The development and ongoing maintenance of this website is funded through San Juan County Partnership's Strategic Prevention Framework Partnerships for Success (SPF PFS 19/24) grant from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

The purpose of this website is to provide accessible and current data specific to San Juan County for community leaders, agencies and organizations, and community members.

Whether you are writing a grant, making decisions about priorities, or simply want to learn more about the strengths and challenges across our county, our hope is that this website serves as a valuable resource.

Tips & Guidance

Tip #1: SCREEN SIZE

It is suggested that you view this website on a screen size not smaller than a tablet. Not all graphs will be visible on smaller screens, such as phones.

The design of this website reflects some effort to make the site responsive to different screen sizes, such as phones. For example, images/maps can be clicked on to open them at a larger size. However, the graphs are not able to be opened in a separate window and are not responsive to screen size, as they would quickly become illegible.

Tip #2: INTERACTIVE GRAPHS

The graphs are "interactive." You can disable series on graphs to get a better view of other data/labels, and you can roll your cursor over individual parts of a graph to see the exact value.

Some of the lines on graphs are close together, and labels may be obscured. Click on the name of a line to temporarily disable it to be able to see the other lines/labels more clearly. With all of the graphs, you can roll your cursor over the points on the line or the columns/bars to see the data point.

Tip #3: SOURCES & NOTES

At the bottom of every data page is a tab for Sources and a tab for Notes. Refer to the sources and notes for information about where the data were obtained, and if there are alternative data sets, definitions, or any caveats you should be aware of if you are citing these data for reports or grant applications.

Every effort has been made to ensure the data on this website are accurate and up to date. However, it is suggested that you consult the primary data sources cited, as you are ultimately responsible for ensuring their accuracy. Also, data do occasionally change on the primary sources, and those changes may not be yet reflected on this website.

The Sources tab is visible by default. Click on the Notes tab to view the notes.

Tip #4: GET IN TOUCH

Don't hesitate to contact me (email below, or use the Contact form) if you have questions or would like to suggest data for this site. This is what I do, it's what I enjoy doing, and am contracted with San Juan County Partnership to be of service to the community's needs related to finding, interpreting and sharing data.
